Quantum2 ST is an advanced 1U rack-mount IP audio codec designed for connecting studios to transmitters, linking studios together, and integrating with OB vehicles. It is available in both single and dual stereo versions. This unit is an update to the previous Quantum ST Codec.
Quantum2 ST ensures stable and highly reliable audio connections using diversity streams. It supports point-to-multipoint distribution with multi-unicast (1:10) or unlimited multicast protocols.
For seamless integration of uncompressed digital audio, it offers Dante/AES67 or Ravenna/AES67 interfaces, allowing audio to be transmitted over a single Ethernet cable, replacing all individual audio inputs and outputs.
This unit can be controlled via its built-in web graphical interface, front panel display menu, or the ProdysControlPlus application. Additionally, the new WEBMONITOR feature enables remote audio monitoring through ProdysControlPlus or an Internet browser, making remote management easy and efficient for supervisors.
Audio Features
- Available with one or two stereo audio inputs/outputs featuring XLR connectors.
- Offers both analog and digital (AES/EBU) outputs and inputs.
- Supports various audio codecs, including MPEG1/2 Layer II, AAC, apt-X, G711/G722, OPUS, and PCM.
- Optional interfaces: Dante/AES67 or Ravenna/AES67 for uncompressed digital audio over a single Ethernet cable.
Communications Features
The Quantum2 ST inherits world-class IP technology from the Prodys Audio/Video codec family:
- Automatic Jitter Buffer: An adjustable buffer that prevents audio dropouts in IP connections.
- Automatic Synchronization: Adjusts to the transmitter site rate to maintain a constant delay in IP communications.
- Prodys NAT Traversal Streaming Protocol: Allows router firewall pass-through with zero configuration.
- Prodys Real-Time Network Analyzer: Monitors critical network parameters in real-time during connections.
- Forward Error Correction (FEC): Offers up to 24 different schemes to accommodate desired delay and available bandwidth.
- Error Concealment: Supports mechanisms in MPEG audio modes to reduce the impact of packet losses.
Additional communication features include:
- Dual Ethernet Interfaces: Allows for the separation of streaming and control or for bonding/diversity of two IP links.
- Wi-Fi Interface: Compatible with 802.11b/g/n for bonding or diversity with Ethernet.
- IP Compatibility: Supports SIP/SDP/RTP/STUN protocols as defined by the N/ACIP project within the EBU group.
